Welcome to Shkolla Vuno, 
our South Hostel!

The hostel is located in a beautiful small village called Vuno, in between Dhermi and Himare, on the yet undiscovered ionian south coast of Albania. Hidden between the olive and fig trees, next to a beautiful 200 year old church and old school, the hostel sits back, with an amazing view over the Ionian sea, all the way to the little lights of Corfu island. In the mornings and afternoons the village shepherd passes by with his 100 goats. His family sells us fantastic fresh goat milk, cheese, butter, yoghurt and the most pure olive-oil, fresh herbs and many other seasonal fruits and herbs they collect wandering the hills of Vuno with their goats. During the day you can visit the beautiful beach of Jal, the secluded beach of Gjipe with its Canyon. You can have a shady hike up on the mountain following the old paths along a little stream, all the way to a beautiful waterfall and discover lots of other hidden jewels of the Albanian south coast! The nights are enlightened with the clearest Milky Way you've ever seen. The South Hostel is run for the benefit of the local community and all profits go to help the work of the Outdoor Albania Association. Come and experience Shkolla Vuno!
